At Oakwood Scotland Solicitors, our focus is always on our clients and ensuring that we are always there to help.
That’s why when a new client approached us for advice, we were able to advise them, represent them at court, and get the desired result. Read on for a case study.
DVLA – Client case study
Our client had his driving licence revoked by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing agency (DVLA) despite having followed advice given after a common medical procedure. A procedure that is carried out regularly under NHS provision.
The disruption it caused was significant, with a risk to losing his employment. Having considered firms more local to his hometown, he knew that he needed an experienced Solicitor and a firm that would not only be capable of representing him but understanding the risks to his livelihood and future.
Our Director, Alastair Cameron, represented the Client and through skillful advocacy and focused argument, he successfully had the revocation reversed and our client’s driving licence reinstated. Within 48 hours, the DVLA issued the client’s new driving licence.
Our client was both delighted with the result and relieved that his job was secure. He stated:
“I thought Oakwood Scotland would be good as they listened to me and understood my issue, but having experienced this first hand, I have recommended both Alastair and Oakwood Scotland Solicitors to family and friends.”
Alastair confirmed that Oakwood Scotland Solicitors are always here for clients, new and old, at times when they most need advice and legal representation. After all, help is only a call away and we offer funding packages to suit all our clients.
Road traffic accidents – What can I claim for?
We are often asked by clients what they can claim for, and this is generally from confusion around a claim and poor communication from media and similar information sources.
Being involved in an accident is an emotive matter. Chances are it has happened on route to work or a pre-arranged appointment. It seldom happens when the person has time on their hands and their time is not in demand. After all, we now all live busy lives with a lot of demands on our day.
The most obvious claim is for personal injury, that is the payment of damages for injury, but what about associated losses?
For example, not everyone receives sick pay, and so a claim for loss of earnings can be made. A very simple process and with one form to your employer confirms how much you have lost because of your absence from work.
Similarly, you may have had required physiotherapy and concerned at the cost, and it being recovered. Even if you have not been injured, chances are you have paid the excess payment to have your car repaired.
Caring for clients
At Oakwood Scotland Solicitors, we aim to make the process as quick and as easy as possible for you, by ensuring all your losses are established and securing swift settlement of your claim.
In addition, we can arrange repair of your car if you have been in non-fault accident and a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repairs. We are also able to arrange physiotherapy at a time and location convenient to you.
We provide a total solution for you in the aftermath of an accident, by taking the stress out of a stressful situation, and ensuring that you receive not only the compensation that you are entitled to, but the help you so desperately need at one of the most trying of times.
